Buy his book and then you MUST buy this dvd. For one, its usually cheap (for a two film package) and two, the commentaries are worth their weight in gold. Both commentaries are a great source of inspiration when the going gets tough...buy this dvd.

to whoever asked about rodriguez's next film... it's Once Upon A Time In Mexico, the third part of the mariachi trilogy, salma hayek, antonio banderas, willem dafoe (i think) and jonnie depp star... gonna be wicked...
his books cool too, but the guerilla film-making god is probably sam raimi,

Beuford: I was just curious as to why you'd say Sam Raimi is "the guerilla film-making god". I am a big Raimi fan, but never really thought of him in that capacity. Are you referring to the making of the Evil Dead, because I think he went pro for every production after that? Or are you referring to Raimi's super8 films? Just curious.

Check out Bruce Cambel's If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a Hollywood B movie actor. He talks quite a bit about Sam Rami and the first Evil dead movie.Including,
diagrams of some of the home made inventions they used in the movie. It's a great follow up to rodriguez's book and a good resource for every low-budget filmaker.

I am so fucking SICK to death of hearing about "indie God" Robert Rodriguez...please, what's he working on now? SPY KIDS 2? The guy's a great technical filmmaker, but a hack at heart.

to yammery: yeh, i was talking about evil dead... what he's done with that (and the [admitedly superior] sequel) was just awesome, especially the effects, the ideas, and the wicked use of the camera (the final force shot is just too cool for words).
